Great Day Moving expands to 3 locations in the Kansas City metro area beginning in May. We can now offer a more affordable moving service due to the placement of franchises throughout the metro area, as well as create new jobs for Kansas City workers.

April 13, 2011 marked a very important day in Great Day Moving history. It was on this day that the first franchisees began their training at Crownbound University. Crownbound University is the initial training program for all Great Day Moving franchisees conducted at our headquarters in Merriam, Kansas.

The program is an accumulation of everything the founders learned in growing their own, local moving company, Marathon Moving & Delivery… and much, much more. Mostly, the important stuff that they wished someone would have told them when they got started.

Both new franchise owners, Steven Rogers and Mike Casey, were instructed on various aspects of running a successful moving business. The program is a combination of both classroom and on-the-job training. Their training covered operational guidelines such as truck operations, managing employees, and instruction on the automated systems and processes. They also learned about the long list of insurance policies required to legally and safely operate a moving company. Steven and Mike were educated on how to conduct local marketing in their own territories and how to respectfully handle all customer relations and interact with the support center. During the on-the-job portion, they gained knowledge on moving and lifting techniques, truck packing and loading, and the use of proper tools and equipment to protect the customer’s belongings while being handled and during transit.
