At Great Day Moving, we sure do love our contests, especially a recent one we participated in which every single vote literally sent our CEO to Vegas for a FREE weekend this past October!
Well, for the next 6 weeks (hopefully) we will be competing in KCSourceLink’s Second Annual Battle of the Brands to be the next “Aristo of Entrepreneurship” in Kansas City.
What is KCSourceLink?
It’s a local entity that connects entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the region to a network of 180+ nonprofit resource organizations that provide low cost or no cost services. Basically, it is the ‘link’ that connects the small business owner looking for assistance to the resource that can help them move on to the next level in areas of business such as: marketing, loans, government contracting, financial planning, and many more.
The KCSourceLink blog, Facebook page, Twitter feed, and LinkedIn group deliver business tips, trends, and tricks to small business owners throughout the Kansas City area and surrounding region.
Battle of the Brands
Since KCSourceLink’s goal is and always has been to promote Kansas City entrepreneurship, they started Battle of the Brands to raise awareness for local entrepreneurial companies. The first bracket this week begins with 64 entrepreneurial companies—from local, iconic brands like Garmin to entrepreneurial upstarts such as Kiwi Creative (who actually designed the Great Day Moving Logo!!) and us! Many local businesses were nominated so we were lucky to make it.
All 64 companies are divided into 4 categories to coincide with the four quadrants of entrepreneurship that you can read about here. Great Day Moving is competing in the “Second Stage” category and was chosen because of our entrepreneurial roots in Kansas City, evidence of growth or innovation, and since we have been in business for at least one year (actually 5+)!

We are rallying the troops and our fans and our friends to vote for us each week! But first we have to make it through the first bracket which ends this Friday, March 8 at 4pm. All you have to do is vote (only once per week) at this link: http://www.kcsourcelink.com/kc-battle
Great Day Moving is represented in one of the 4 categories, so you get to vote for 3 more of your favorite, local businesses before your vote is complete for the first round. The companies with the most votes move on to the next round until it is narrowed down to one company who receives the bragging rights!
Here’s how the voting breaks down:
- 64: Mar. 4, 9 a.m. to Mar. 8, 4 p.m.
- 32: Mar. 11, noon to Mar. 15, 4 p.m.
- 16: Mar. 18, noon to Mar. 22, 4 p.m.
- 8: Mar. 25, noon to Mar. 29, 4 p.m.
- 4: Apr. 1, noon to Apr. 5, 4 p.m.
- Championship: April 8, noon to April 12, 4 p.m.
